By the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan starting from April 1 the changes aimed at improving the system of intellectual property protection are introduced.

• The restriction on the registration of trademarks and service marks exclusively in the name of legal entities and individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activity is canceled
• Accelerated examination is introduced due to which the registration terms of intellectual property objects are reduced
• Exporters, whose share of exports is more than 60% of the total turnover, as well as entrepreneurs working in the field of agriculture and handicrafts, are exempt from paying official fees
