MSP at IP Days Seminar 2017 and Pan-European Conference on the UPC

The representatives of Mikhailyuk, Sorokolat and Partners visited two IP-related events – IP-Days Seminar 2017 and Pan-European Conference on the UPC. Patent Enforcement in the Unitary Patent System that were held in Munich, Germany on 20-21st, September and 21-22nd, September correspondingly.

IP Days 2017

During the IP Days 2017 which was organised by Meissner Bolte, the trademark law in the USA, Germany, and the EU was considered as well as the practical information for building a successful design portfolio was provided. In the frame of the event the participants were provided with a status update on the Unified Patent Court and they discussed potential impacts of the BREXIT on IP in the UK and worldwide.

The first day of the Seminar was concluded with a tour to the BMW-Welt (the BMW exhibition centre).

The closing of the Seminar was held at Oktoberfest where the participants had an honour to be invited wearing traditional Bavarian costumes.

"Pan-European Conference on the UPC. Patent Enforcement in the Unitary Patent System"

The two-day Pan-European conference was organised by VOSSIUS & PARTNER, in co-operation with BRISTOWS LLP and BRINKHOF N.V. The event was focused on the prosecution and enforcement of patents according to the Unified Patent Court Agreement.

During the event the keynote speakers and attendees of the conference discussed the strategies that may be used in the transitional period, overviewed the potential pros and cons of the new system as well as its chances, specific challenges and risks. Also, the specification of patent registration, obtaining European patent, patent infringement, IP protection worldwide as well as procedural changes were discussed.

We were glad to take part in the mentioned events and once again discuss the pending implementation of the UPC system which is now being in a good progress. We hope that the UPC Agreement will be soon ratified and we will keep you informed on the matter. Meanwhile, it was a pleasure for us to meet the attendees of the conferences, and we look forward to seeing you at the future IP-related events!
