Starting 15 January 2024, a new procedure is implemented – validation of European patents in Georgia. Under the agreement signed by the EPO and Georgian government, applicants will be able to validate their European patent applications and patents in Georgia, giving them the same legal effect as Georgian patents and being governed solely by national law. This will allow for a simplified and cost-effective process of obtaining a patent in Georgia and contribute to the development of innovations in the country.
